Zimbabwe has lost the life of retired Colonel Tshinga Dube, a symbol of the liberation struggle whose life symbolised the bravery and sacrifice of a generation forged in the furnace of resistance.

After being recognised as a national hero after his death at the age of 83, Dube’s contributions to the country’s independence and the post-colonial integration of its military forces are now a part of the national narrative.
